mnamreh - I think even Fred will agree with this one (not that it is remotely significant I hasten to add), what did M. Thatcher have as an alternative KINNOCK? never a worthy contest. As far as N. Griffin and the Nazi party are concerned, thank God, Allah whoever or whatever, anyone with even a smattering of common sense would not vote for what they represent! No matter how desperate.

mnamreh - Probably naive, I don't know, I would like to think otherwise. Guys of my generation ie educated in England in the sixties, were never really taught History of World War 1 and 2, probably it was a wee bit to early, we were taught rightly or wrongly Henry v111, Elizabeth 1 etc and the Great British Empire. No mention was made of the English aberrations (alleged, even though it was in reality Scottish Cival War) of the Highland clearances. And the Irish Potato Famine. Today I am led to believe that World One 1 and 2 are part of the school curriculam and as such are younger generation are more aware and hopefully will treat the Nick Griffins of this world with the contempt they deserve! Perhaps I live in hope!

I think a lot of the problems in our society at the moment are traceable back to Thatcher and her period of greed and moral decay.

The "no such thing as society" speech, prepared for, and allowed loose, some of the more corrupt members Banks, the Financial Sectors of the economy.

The ethos was a concentration on short term personal gain.

It put on a pinnacle, Greed and Self Advancement at the Expense of Others.

It was a period during which, the possession or acquirement of an object, was thought to be more important than the intrinsic values of the object.

The must have society or the look what I have got society, which has driven us for the last 20 years. This philosophy has led to the economic chaos we have now.

I think Cameron and his cronies with their absence of real economic inclusive policies will push us further and faster down this route. Leading to increasingly fragmented society and with it subsequent lawlessness.
