HARRYCAT - 11 May 2012 15:38 - 831 of 1086

StockMarketWire.com
Borders & Southern has reported that exploration well 61/25-1 has been spudded.

The well is located approximately 170 km south of the Falkland Islands. Borders & Southern is the operator of the well, holding a 100% interest in licence PL018. It is the second of a two well exploration programme.

It is designed to test the Stebbing prospect, a thrust cored anticline structure with an area of closure of 85 square kilometres. Objectives comprise Tertiary and Upper Cretaceous sandstone reservoirs.

The well duration is estimated to be 49 days. However, this is a wildcat exploration well and geological challenges might cause variation from this initial estimate. A further announcement will be made once the well has reached its total depth and the wireline logs have been run and their interpretation completed.

With respect to the Darwin gas condensate discovery, fluid samples are being shipped back to the UK for detailed analysis.

The results are anticipated in the third quarter of the year and will be announced as soon as the work has been completed.

halifax - 11 May 2012 16:22 - 832 of 1086

Harry why do you think it will take several months to analyse the condensate found at Darwin?

HARRYCAT - 11 May 2012 16:37 - 833 of 1086

No idea, h. It has to be flown back the the U.K. to a laboratory and I suppose has to be slotted into a schedule with other samples from other companies. Then analysis plus re-checking plus presentation of the results to BOR, then BOR deliberation and release of details to the public. I seem to remember the details of the RKH samples took nearly a month to be released to the public.

cynic - 11 May 2012 20:03 - 834 of 1086

Q3 and "nearly a month" are not comparable ...... Q3 can take you to end september; if they mean they expect the results in say june or early july, then they would undoubtedly have said 4/6 weeks ...... bad news and figures always take much longer to produce than good

HARRYCAT - 11 May 2012 23:03 - 835 of 1086

I concede that is a remarkably long time. Bizarre that they don't seem in more of a hurry to get the job done.

cynic - 12 May 2012 09:52 - 836 of 1086

it may well be that my (cynical) analysis is correct

greekman - 13 May 2012 16:40 - 837 of 1086

Q3 could also mean on July 1st.

No matter when it comes, I will be a different man, IE less hair and finger nails bitten down to the quick.
They say patience is a virtue, well I just wish I had a bucket load more (patience and shares that is).

cynic - 13 May 2012 17:56 - 838 of 1086

greek - while that is true, had it been so then the statement would likely have said 4/6 weeks - as i wrote previously

greekman - 14 May 2012 07:23 - 839 of 1086

Morning cynic,

Possibly, but stating sometime in Q3 gives them far more leeway, than 4/6 weeks.

hlyeo98 - 17 May 2012 12:47 - 840 of 1086

Oh dear... BOR is slipping away... 70p now.

cynic - 17 May 2012 12:56 - 841 of 1086

so are the markets in general ..... fear takes hold once again

hlyeo98 - 17 May 2012 13:39 - 842 of 1086

It is time to buy gold again.

Shortie - 17 May 2012 16:13 - 843 of 1086

I think so bought into Cluff this morning, BOR looking rather dull at the moment.

halifax - 17 May 2012 16:29 - 844 of 1086

where have all the rampers gone....is that a cue for a song?

required field - 18 May 2012 09:04 - 845 of 1086

No point in ramping anything ......they are probably taking a hit like everybody else....

hlyeo98 - 18 May 2012 09:21 - 846 of 1086

67p now.

mnamreh - 18 May 2012 09:25 - 847 of 1086

Proselenes - 18 May 2012 09:25 - 848 of 1086
