THE TALK TO YOURSELF THREAD. (NOWT)

goldfinger - 09 Jun 2005 12:25

Thought Id start this one going because its rather dead on this board at the moment and I suppose all my usual muckers are either at the Stella tennis event watching Dim Tim (lose again) or at Henly Regatta eating cucumber sandwiches (they wish,...NOT).

Anyway please feel free to just talk to yourself blast away and let it go on any company or subject you wish. Just wish Id thought of this one before.

cheers GF.

Greek - Trust me Toooo much information:o)))

TheFrenchConnection - 20 Feb 2010 15:10 - 8353 of 81564

l concur with Tobasco ; the French are the very best at everything : o))) oh -indeedy . Yes . Definately. ,,l had a reallly good laugh at all your witty bidet and bottom hygiene joking with accompanying cartoons. !!! Fab . . .. Didnt laugh very much after reading article reg bed linen ect ect i must admit to being slightly alarmed. Everyone who had the misfortune of my company today must think i am dangerously obcessed about bedbugs, dust mites, bukets of dead skin and heavy pillows . The power of the mind is so terrifying; so much so i dare not go to bed last night lest i be molested by legions of these so cleverly disguised creatures they are invisible to humans.. Not fair really.....C.C, et al - of course i take your banter in good humour . lf you cant laugh at y/self you would be someone to avoid. Laughter is the best tonic known. Not at funerals or when police officers stop you for speeding,,you understand , but generally speaking. ......Talking of WW 1+ 2.l think we never recovored from the carnage 1914-18 war. What with most of the bloodletting/ lust and sheer slaughter occuring on French soil and what with so many MILLIONS dying, we lost the stomach for war -perhaps fotrrever..By the time of the 2nd world war France diplomatically cut a deal with old uncle addy... l think the biggest battle in the ensuing 1939-45 war in France was not with the Germans but between between de la rocques rabid private 500,000 strong army --Croix de feu --and Jean Renauds- Solidarite' ,,,,,,,,How we avoided a civil war l find hard to believe,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,Got a bit serious there sorry everyone..... A quick trivia Q before my meds hit home hehe. Name the only ENGLISH manager to guide his side to the prem title ? ( Took me days to work it out ,,:-))

required field - 20 Feb 2010 15:38 - 8354 of 81564

Was it the Blackburn manager ?...can't remember now...

TheFrenchConnection - 20 Feb 2010 17:03 - 8355 of 81564

Fraid not RF ----a weeie clue 4 u all - Blackburn is not far away from said side. Strange tho that only ONE eng.manager has won p/ship.

kimoldfield - 20 Feb 2010 20:52 - 8356 of 81564

I'm not sure that an English manager has won the Premiership title since it's inauguration?

Chris Carson - 20 Feb 2010 22:00 - 8357 of 81564

Aye I think your right kimoldfield, TFC go on then put us out of our misery :o))

hilary - 21 Feb 2010 09:23 - 8358 of 81564

The devil is in the detail. Steve Bruce is your man.

hilary - 21 Feb 2010 09:26 - 8359 of 81564

Moreover, he's the only English manager to guide his team to the DOUBLE!

tabasco - 21 Feb 2010 14:31 - 8360 of 81564

Namrehproud to sayIm just a lucky thicko

TheFrenchConnection - 21 Feb 2010 20:30 - 8367 of 81564

Ok will tell ..........i seem to remeber a certain Howard Wilinson won p/ship with Leeds soon after its inception . Probably find out i am wrong now ;-)) but am pretty certain .

TheFrenchConnection - 21 Feb 2010 20:54 - 8368 of 81564

and certainly not a Parisian !!! ..lts not even France proper !! ...l am from a small village called Labestide- Murat near Brive-La-Gaillarde. Still a little lost ? lt lies about 90 km from Bordeaux in foothills of the C.M. ...But that is of little consequence but what is most important is i can buy wine ..:-)) i see in UK vintners for 10 to 25 for a fraction of that --usually a tenth or so ..( in addition ,,,Reg. cuisine -You obviously dont look in the right places ...Driving -lts all relative- Go to Rome and by comparison we are F1 drivers. Also we dont have the road rage scenarios. ...There are more michellin eateries in Paris than rest of world put together!!...We have THE ONLT truly independant space programme in Toulouse whick makes the USA facility look antiquated , We wont be cold when hydrocarbons run out as we mastered nuclear fusion and thus France is 84% nuclear.-safely and cheaply . We have trains that run at more than twice twice the speed of the brits dated train system and our stations and airports dont either shut down or go to sleep when it gets dark :- ))..We dont have those awful back to back housing where people live in a manner more befitting a hamster., or unemployed armies of young girls wandering around with a hoarde of screaming kids-all by different fathers in tow. People take a huge pride in their homes and villages here and whilst its not exactly my thingd we have an annual contest where over 1000 villages compete for that which is most pleasing to the senses. ....Aww i could compile a catalogue of French ways being superior to Brit way ........BUT to sum it all up in one sentance -Recently Marks and Spencer laid off a number of workers at one of their Parisian mega stores ( synergies u understand ). Subsequently it brought over 300,000 onto the streets of Paris- from Drs, Lawyers, teachers and civil servants to housewives, pensioners and, students workers-: who would not disperse until said workers were re-instated -which they were the next day . Gone are the days of hiring and firing on whim ,(esp when employes may have worked there for many years) and sometimes overmanning is not neccasarily a bad thing if it avoids a high social price..But since when have your political masters cared about that ??? ...

Balerboy - 21 Feb 2010 21:40 - 8369 of 81564

French ways being superior to Brit way ........ Don't see many froggies fighting in iraq.....or anywhere else for that matter, they'd sooner piss the wine up the wall and sh*g each other...

Chris Carson - 21 Feb 2010 21:44 - 8370 of 81564

Sounds like a plan to me! :o)

TheFrenchConnection - 21 Feb 2010 21:47 - 8371 of 81564
