RE: MAURITANIA DRILLING PROGRAMME
WEEKLY PROGRESS REPORT
Hardman Resources Ltd ('Hardman') provides the following weekly progress report
on the Mauritania offshore drilling programme:
Tiof-3 Appraisal Well - PSC B
Progress and Current Status:
Since the last report (12 October 2004) the West Navigator rig drilled two cores
in the Tiof-3 ST1 sidetrack well to a depth of 2,795 metres. At that depth the
core barrel became stuck and it was not possible to recover the second core to
surface and the sidetrack hole was abandoned. A second sidetrack hole was then
established and at midnight on 18 October the West Navigator was coring the
Tiof-3 ST2 sidetrack well. Following coring, wireline logging operations will be
run and it is planned to conduct a flow test of the well.
Well Location:
The Tiof discovery is located approximately 90 kilometres west of Nouakchott,
the Mauritanian capital, and 25 kilometres north of the Chinguetti Field. The
Tiof-3 well is located approximately 4 kilometres west of the Tiof-1 discovery
well. Water depth is 1,198 metres.
Well Details:
The Tiof-3 well is intended to appraise the Tiof oil discovery. The well will
further evaluate the Miocene channel sand system within the Tiof Field area as
interpreted with 3D seismic.
Dorade-1 Exploration Well - PSC 2
The results of Dorade-1 were reported yesterday, 18 October. As of midnight on
18 October (GMT) the Stena Tay is continuing to plug and abandon Dorade-1.
Capitaine-1A Exploration Well - PSC B
Progress and Current Status:
After completing operations on Dorade-1 the Stena Tay will move to the
Capitaine-1A location and drill that well to total depth.
Well Location:
The Capitaine Prospect is located approximately 125 kilometres southwest of
Nouakchott, the Mauritanian capital, and 30 kilometres southwest of the
Chinguetti Field. Water depth is approximately 1,680 metres and the planned
total depth of the well is approximately 3,140 meters.
Prospect Details:
The Capitaine-1 exploration well is testing a structural trap within the
Chinguetti channel sand system where an anticlinal structure was formed by an
underlying salt dome.
Other information:
All reported depths are referenced to the rig rotary table (except water depth).
Hydrocarbon shows will only be reported after all required logs have been run
and evaluated for each well.
Times and dates refer to Mauritania time (GMT), 8 hours behind Western Standard
Time, Perth.

What does all that mean?
From what I gather, the Tiof was drilled and abandoned as the core sample was lost.
It was redrilled, why?
Obviously oil is suspected or they would have left it.
Over to y'all for your interpretations.

No break up or down on the price at market open.
Maybe the mm don't know what the rns means, or they see it the same as me!

What is a sidetrack well? Obviously I don't understand the report either. But anyway, back to the important stuff....fancy some porridge this morning.

A core is a sample of rock that is taken from the oil-bearing zone in the well for analysis for future study. This sample is taken using a tool called a core barrel, which is basically an empty pipe with the core being stored inside the pipe. Unfortunately on occasions this tool will jam. If the core is necessary fo future reservoir analysis, the bottom of the well is plugged off with cement, and the bottom of the hole redrilled. This is known as a sidetrack. Overall this is neither here or there in the overall scheme but merely results in the well taking longer to drill and being more expensive. Hope that helps

Morning all. My take on the RNS is that there was a slight delay at Tiof 3, nothing to worry about as they've now drilled a 2nd sidetrack hole. Guess we just have to sit back and wait for the results now as indicated from the RNS, hopefully we will get them soon.
Slept in this morning and woke to find talk of kippers, deep fried camenbert and wire line logging operations. Nice mix!

oh, hilary...forget the rns, that is what i call a serious lunch! i used to have that at cafe rouge years ago. a perfect lunch for a cold winter tuesday.
back to SEY, this is kind of typical when we have weekly reports when there is not a whole lot to say. we all love the regular updates but there are always weeks, like these, when there is bugger all of any consequence. sit back, relax and have a double espresso (thx starbucks).

sandrew64. I was worried everyone had food poisoning.
MS fault if they have.............
All is still well, watching and waiting.
Bit of a come down today, I have baked potatos.
I went on the road yesterday and bought 25kg of beautiful King Edwards for 5 straight from the farm, still have mud on from the fields!!!
Well, I washed it off some big ones and baked them today in foil at gas mark 5 for 90 minutes, taking the foil off 20 minutes before serving that way they are still moist inside and crisp on the outside.
I then split them and sprinkled on some very nice grated Canadian Cheddar which I allowed to soften.
Beautiful.
The alternative way is to place them with the cheese on under the grill and let the cheese brown and bubble, sprinkle with dried fried onions available from Sainsbury, provided they have their stock filling correct.
Now there's another story.............

Sounds very nice SWW. Just had leftover pasta and sauce tonight. When you are next in Sainsbury pick up this months mag. and try the pumpkin/chilli/coconut soup - absolutely delicious.Bit hot and only used 1/2 chilli. It'll warm those cockles! Here's to a more exciting day in the SEY camp tomorrow...bit flat for a Tues.

Looks like we were down to the bare bones of posting today! To take SWW's baked potatoe a step further, a wee touch of Worcester sauce over the melted cheese and onion. As for the cheese, Orkney mature cheddar does it for me.
Going back to SEY, it said in the RNS that they will be running wire line logging and doing a flow test on Tiof-3. Wouldn't be doing that unless oil was there. All is still most definitely well here.

gavdfc I'll give that a try, thanks.
Of course we all know the best cheddar is from Cheddar ;-)
I agree about the wire log, makes sense.
I note that Ted Ellyard has stepped down from the end of the month from HNR for personal and health reasons. If you all rememebr, he caused a stir also when he sold a large wedge of his holding prior to the current drilling campaign.
Can see why he did it now, if he is ill and needs a rest why shouldn't he have it. The RNS is quite freindly towrds him.
Spookily enough, overnight the Woodisde CEO has been asked to resign, probably after Woodside made a smaller profit than last year, as a result of less production and less reserves. I include the latter comment as Woodside is 30% owned by Shell who have a history of employing people who can't count!
