I was thinking about a bank. I bought a few LLOY a while back and it has made me a few bob, plus I may hold long enough to get a small divi. I'm keeping a close eye on it and have a tight stop loss. Also, it's getting close to the time of year "sell in May and go away", when some shares can be quite volatile so I want to be holding some good blue chip stocks.

Cheers Socco, Lloy doing OK with nice divi, hope the takeover materialises. Several financials around with good divis. Surprising that the blue chip money stocks pay so much!

There is another advantage with the blue chips. The spread is normally very small, so it can almost be ignored in any transaction. Takeover would be a bonus but I'm not counting on it.

I notice from the Colombo Mirror this morning that the visit of "Kool and the Gang" is big news in Sri Lanka, it seems that they are the only western group to play here for some time.

optomistic, I wish, I love travel for holidays but I hate it for work its all airport taxi hotel taxi office taxi hotel taxi office taxi airport etc.

This time I managed to get the girfiend to come over for the weekend and telling her we would go somewhere outside Colombo on Saturday and Sunday, this bribe has cost me 550 for her airfare and about another 350 for a hotel in Galle and she is onlly here for 4 days.

Oh heck Spacie, hope she doesn't get used to joining you on your journeys.
