As we take our dog for a walk in the late afternoon in Northampton's various parks, we see tons of kids, including girls, doing 'football training'.
1. They are all dressed in, obviously quite expensive, complete football kits: boots, stockings, pads, shorts, shirts.
(2. Their skills and standards are amazing!)
Hence the reflection of this 'kids' football fever', which surely must be 'national', in the results of businesses like J D Sports.

Indeed indeed exec. Very expensive aswel considering how kids outgrow clothes and shoes so fast.

if at all, and i confess i am not a fan of the banking sector, then NOW as it has to be odds-on a "no" vote as the market has been flagging for several days now

UPDATE - Alibaba flotation sets new record
--- ADDS OPENING SHARE PRICE, DETAIL---
Alibaba Group, the Asian e-commerce giant, shot out of the starting gate, with shares opening in New York at US$92.7 each.
That's a significant premium to the US$68 issue price set and electrified the tradinbg floor at the New York Exchange.
It puts the market cap of the firm at around US230bn and gives the value of Jack Ma's personal holding at over US$20bn
Yesterday, the much talked about IPO earned the accolade of biggest US stock market flotation ever.
The group is set to sell US$21.8bn of shares at a price of US$68 each when it floated. The flotation price valued the entire company at US$168bn.
The listing is slightly controversial, because of the company's dual share structure that allows the owners to keep control of the company despite not controlling a majority of the shares in issue.
An insistence on maintaining the share structure proved a sticking point in the company's plans to float in Hong Kong, hence the listing in New York.
Unlike many other high profile tech companies that have floated in the US this decade, Alibaba will make its debut on the stock market as a company that is already profitable.
The flotation has provided a windfall for waning Internet portal, Yahoo!, which invested US$1bn in Alibaba some nine years ago and which is thought to have cashed in 121.7mln shares through the flotation, raising around US$8.3bn in the process.

Chris Carson - 25 Sep 2014 17:23 - 16346 of 16354
LOL!!!
Skinny no longer posts nor does Seymour Clearly and the contributions from others is negligible.
Cant see any point in keeping it going with the prevailing attitudes towards it.
I may aswel ask Ian to close it down.

GF,
It would be a pity to attempt to close this thread.
I don't contribute as I am sceptical of my charting abilities, but I do follow the thread and think many other "sleeping posters" do like wise..
One of problems with market at the moment is the volatility and the wiser ones may have their cash in their pockets.

I appreciate the hard work you and some others have put into it!

Dont get me wrong Fred Im not wanting any sympathy or anything like that Im not that type, it just comes down to the time factor a lot more time than people give you credit for. Dont forget theres all the filtering to do before posting a chart the research time that goes in, I spend at least 2/3 hours per night just to get one or two charts that I think will make money.
But If we are getting people taking the Pi-s and implying its useless and others who take and dont give back, I cant see the pluses of keeping it open.
