Rockhopper was established in 2004 with a strategy to invest in and undertake an offshore oil exploration programme in the North Falkland Basin. It was floated on AIM in August 2005. Rockhopper was the first company to make a commercial oil discovery in the Falklands. Today Rockhopper is the largest acreage holder in the North Falkland Basin, with interests in the Greater Mediterranean region.

RKH know how to keep a tight ship... Where is the Maersk Traveller? has it picked any thing up or is it on standby

chav - 16 Aug 2010 10:29 - 2322 of 6294

Maersk Traveller will probably be calling into Port San Carlos to pick up the chains for the tow to Sealion imo.

markymar - 16 Aug 2010 10:36 - 2323 of 6294

There should be 16 ton of blue cargo some where either sitting in dock or on back of trawler if not i will stick in on my back and swim to the OG!!!

chav - 16 Aug 2010 10:41 - 2324 of 6294

No sight of it around the dock and only squid on the Trawler decks so looks like a swimming job for you marky!

halifax - 16 Aug 2010 15:44 - 2331 of 6294

cynic sp slipping time to bail out?

chav - 16 Aug 2010 15:47 - 2332 of 6294

marky...ok...found the Blue cargo and it's been disappearing out to the OG over the last couple of days!

Should have a fresh pic soon.

cynic - 16 Aug 2010 15:49 - 2333 of 6294

definitely not ...... it is already known that RKH has found significant amounts of oil at Sealion, though the flowtests remain to be done ..... the weakness now is related to ernest which is an awful long way away from Sealion ..... as several have said, the chances of RKH finding commercial oil at ernest are slim - 5:1 - and if i have read correctly, one of the major parts of the exercise is to try to determine the full extent of the Sealion and attaching reservoirs - or something like that ..... marky is far more up to speed than i on these things

halifax - 16 Aug 2010 15:50 - 2334 of 6294

chav do you think that suggests ernest is a duster and OG will move on quickly to flow test sea lion.

chav - 16 Aug 2010 15:55 - 2335 of 6294

halifax...either they are moving the kit out to the OG now for testing Ernie or they have finished drilling Ernie and are loading it onto the OG and moving to Sealion.

I would have thought that they would have shifted it out to Sealion after the move rather than clutter up the tight space on the OG whilst still at Ernie, so maybe....Xed fingers!

halifax - 16 Aug 2010 16:15 - 2336 of 6294

chav lets hope OG get on with the sealion flow test asap, that is what is going to move the sp hopefully upwards.

gildph - 17 Aug 2010 10:30 - 2337 of 6294

When is news expected for Ernest?

blueface - 17 Aug 2010 10:31 - 2338 of 6294

Everything is a gamble now--and a dry well result would knock confidence alot and the shares will take a nose dive--i have been here before when small companies were drilling in North Sea,etc--mmm--recovery will then take a long time until further wells are drilled and results known,etc--i would personally sell half my shares if i was still sitting on a healthy profit!!!---its your money though and it is up to you guys!!-i am just an old hand in this oil drilling business!!--i go right back to the Jackson NO 1 oil discovery in Australia in 1980's too!!--when a little unknown company called metals and energy minerals were drilling in Northern Territory and their shares shot up from just 9p to 99p in three weeks !!they hit oil in their first well and it was a major find with over 6000 barrels of oil flowing ,etc--BUT there were subsequent disappointments and we all know what happened to the share price-etc--company had to change its name and it became known as Claremont Petroleum--and so on.etc--take care with RKH guys and never push your luck too far!!

halifax - 17 Aug 2010 12:26 - 2339 of 6294

sp spurts upwards is good news coming or is it only on rumour?

kimoldfield - 17 Aug 2010 12:29 - 2340 of 6294

It's only good news if the oil spurts upwards halifax!

gildph, news could be anytime now, though the company indicated that it may not be before Monday. Shareholders will probably be last to hear it however! ;o)
