Rockhopper was established in 2004 with a strategy to invest in and undertake an offshore oil exploration programme in the North Falkland Basin. It was floated on AIM in August 2005. Rockhopper was the first company to make a commercial oil discovery in the Falklands. Today Rockhopper is the largest acreage holder in the North Falkland Basin, with interests in the Greater Mediterranean region.

Last year RKH said in their Preliminary Results

Letter of Intent signed with a third party energy company to farm out one of our licences

The partner was to greedy and wanting to much hence the deal fell through but there are other companies interested but whether it comes to a head I dont know or at was percentage but its another card up their sleeve they can play and I would not rule it out.

A compromise will be reached and it makes sense that it will be around the 290-300 range, if counting on a pretty good 10% discount to today's price now 325p

At a recent Presentation last week it came out that additional 3D is needed but there could be between 5 to 8 fans

I love it that before last week there was just a few people posting here, but now its full of new names and pretend shorters..... :)

Repost, as it got lost in pages of nonsense. I would love the shorters to be caught out, imagine a bear squeeze up to 500p and beyond, shame its unlikely to happen.

I made some comments regarding RKH to my sales-desk here on Friday afternoon and thought I'd repeat them this morning, given what I believe is an outstanding buying opportunity. Last Wednesday we downgraded our NAV from 641p/share to 545p/share on the back of the reserves downgrade by the competent person. Although reduced, our new target price is still 86% above the current price. Whoever is selling/shorting the stock, as suggested by the downward pressure on the price last week, is running an enormous risk of being caught out. Investors buying today are doing exactly the right thing by getting involved at these artificially low levels. I'd highlight the following points:

86% upside to NAV

announcement likely soon regarding extension of rig contract with appraisal well possible in February

successful appraisal well could easily imply that the 242m barrel reserves figure is indeed more appropriate than the 170m barrels, ie taking our NAV back up to 641p/share

Rachel well result was bad for DES, largely immaterial for RKH - they only had 7.5%

a placing at these levels (300p/share) is not hugely dilutive compared to a placing at 400p/share - the difference is 225m total shares at 400p vs 236m shares at 300p, ie only 5%

retail sellers are typically short-sighted - this fall could reverse very rapidly

Leaving here now due to the nonsense being spouted. This thread used to be for grown-ups who invest in shares. Don't want to squelch as most still have good worthwhile input when they want to.
Don't mind a bit of banter, but having to wade through multiple posts looking for the 10% or so of those still about RKH is not worth my time.
No longer post on RKH thread on iii due to the rubbish being posted. Looks like I will have to look for yet another site.
