Thanks takahe for the link to proactive investors (never been on that website before) PET on my watchlist ....the trouble is the market all round is terrible and I need some improvements on my battered porfolio before making any more investment decisions.

PET down again....I still think that AXC is a better bet...(regardless of the ridiculous spread)....it will soon be producing in a couple of years 60000 barrels per day in Northern Iraq...how much does PET produce and how much do they earn at the moment ? not very much...perhaps later on in a year when the drill bit is working things might improve...at the moment it will only go up on potential..!

with PET it is a waiting game and agreed the potential is, at the present time, why we are all holding...patients and a strong nerve are sometimes great personal assets..

Not producing....that's the main problem....good prospects possibly but it will take ages to develop !

rf---- I would have thought that was not the reason for todays weakness.

It seems to me if you look across the board of oilies that producing companies are doing better than mainly explorers !

PET looks oversold...now at 85p.

At the same time AXC (with the terrible spread) is rising....producing that is the difference.

I can only think the weakness y'day was due to the fact that the Iraqi's are not able to police themselves yet, and as a result UK & USA forces withdrawal will be delayed until they can.

You can't compare them, AXC is 2275p and PET is currently an explorer in Iraq, potential of finding oil and producing is high. Currently at 89p.
