I said there was a concensus that a no deal can't be allowed to happen, Dil. An Article 50 extension or revocation is the only way of implementing that concensus as things stand.

As for the delaying tactic argument, I did read that the EU had said that, but I don't really see it as being their call, as the legal ruling is that the UK can revoke it unilaterally.

An extension is something different, and that would require the consent of the other EU27, so there would need to be a valid reason.

Now that Corbyn has made a twit of himself and failed, TM might surprise you all and go for broke on Monday and call a GE - and would I expect wipe the table and rid Labour of Corbyn soon after.

TM is in control and has now provided proof thast she can see off Labour and its supporters.

LONDON (Reuters) - The outlook for Britain’s housing market is darkening fast ahead of Brexit, with sales expectations falling to their lowest level in at least 20 years by one measure, surveys showed on Thursday.

Fred - Not that you would be asked but Would you sit down with TM to discuss how a solution could be found without setting down the condition your leader has. i.e. Take No Deal off the Table?

Your leader is happy to sit down with all sorts of terrorists without conditions but not TM - does her fear that she will put him under her spell?

It seems to me that your leader fears her powers of persuasion or maybe he is only happy dealing with a woman when they are as clueless as his sidekick Diane Abbott, who has trouble with not only her maths but her memory.

LONDON (Reuters) - Britain would vote to stay in the European Union by a 12 percentage point margin if it was given another vote, the highest level since the shock 2016 Brexit referendum, according to a YouGov poll taken on Jan. 16.

The results of the poll, distributed by the People’s Vote campaign which is pushing for another referendum, showed that 56 percent would vote to stay in the EU and 44 percent would vote to leave, excluding those who would not vote or didn’t know.

“The Remain lead, 12 percent, is the highest yet,” Peter Kellner, former president of YouGov, was quoted as saying by the People’s Vote.

In the June 23, 2016 referendum, 17.4 million voters, or 51.9 percent, backed leaving the EU while 16.1 million, or 48.1 percent, backed staying.

The YouGov poll showed 48 percent would vote to remain, 38 percent would vote to leave, 6 percent would not vote and 7 percent did not know how they would vote. YouGov surveyed 1070 adults.

Backing for another referendum among Labour Party supporters was at 78 percent, the poll showed.

Yes Hils , an unconditional decision to remain in the EU and not just a ploy to delay an exit.

I'm not convinced the remain/leave margin is that great, Fred. Unless the remain camp start selling the EU for all of its various benefits and give the public a reason to want to stay instead of trying to frighten them into staying, the 'Tell them again' camp could win a second referendum.

Where does it say that, Dil? Not saying that it doesn't, but I can't see it.

GBP/EUR 1.1335 now the markets have realised you've decided to stay, Dil.

At this rate you'll soon be able to afford a week in Cyprus with Martini. And, all the time you're still in the EU, you'll be able to get doggy passports and take them with you. Plus you'll probably be able to understand what the Cypriots are saying easier than the Norfolk carrot crunchers.
