THURSDAY, 08 JUNE, 2006 *

So several months have passed... Based on the success of last Summer's Event at Longcliffe G.C., a few of you have asked me to take over the reigns from PTH and organise another G0LF M0NEY-AM DAY again based in the MIDLANDS. This is fairEST to the majority coming from all over the UK! From initial feedback (reflecting on 2005 36-Hole hot mid-Summer's day!), the popular view for a 2006 Event has been agreed, as follows: -

* Tea/Coffee on arrival.
* 9 Holes (4BBB 3/4 Stab.) Comp.
* Sandwiches/Lunch.
** 18 Holes (MAIN INDIVIDUAL (FULL HANDICAP) STABLEFORD EVENT) with M-AM and Golfing Prizes for Winners, incl. "Nearest-to-the-Pin" on the 9th. Hole and "The-Longest-Drive" on the 18th. Hole.
* 3-Course Evening Dinner (full waitress service), incl. coffee & mints + Prize Presentation/Mic. Table.

(** ADDITIONAL PRIZES from our generous SPONSORS include: - 3 months worth of Shares Magazine sent to the homes of EACH COMPETITOR every week. The Overall Winner will get The Money-AM Annual Golf Challenge Cup to keep for good plus 1 year's worth of Money-AM Level 2 service worth 357.50 + Vat. The Runner-Up and Third Placed Winners will each get a medal to keep plus 6 months' level 2.)

Venue: - H0RSLEY L0DGE G.C., Belper, Derbyshire (Championship Meadowland Course with American-type Greens). Refreshments will be in the On-Site Kingfisher Restaurant. Entry Fee is: - 60 per Competitor which will cover all of the above ** plus enough to buy some additional golfing prizes.

Oh Eric - mg and Bullie have everything to play for then :o)

markusantonius - 25 Feb 2006 02:15 - 84 of 505

OK, in that case, I've decided to play off scratch now (sorry, Eric!). Mind you - The Shark would still probably win! :o)

EWRobson - 26 Feb 2006 23:09 - 85 of 505

I've heard on the grape vine that our money is going onto SEO CFDs. We may need to see the receipt for the funds from Horsley Lodge. After all, 20 times 60 is 1200. That will buy 37500 SEO. An extra 1000 for each 3p rise in the sp. I doubt whether he can resist it!

Eric, I won't be buying any more Stanelco. I'm overweight in these as it is! BTW surplus from the G0LF entries has already been earmarked for additional prizes. Don't forget that I am buying us Main Event Prizes: 1st., 2nd. & 3rd. plus Nearest-the-Pin, Longest Drive as well as Team Prizes for the Morning 9-Hole Comp.. These are in ADDITION TO our generous Sponsors' Prizes!

EWRobson - 27 Feb 2006 13:06 - 87 of 505

Markus: fascinating to see Ogilvie win the knock-out. At least he's not U.S. Won first four matches at extra holes including being dormie 4 down to Weir and dormie 1 down to Howell. Good to see Howell, Harrington and Donald doing well. The 36 hole format at Wentworth appears to work better, though, as it seems anyone can win over 18 holes. So you may need a 36 hole for your class to tell. lol!

markusantonius - 27 Feb 2006 16:55 - 88 of 505

A nun is sitting with her Mother Superior chatting. "I used some horrible language this week and feel absolutely terrible about it."

"When did you use this awful language?" asks the elder nun.
"Well, I was golfing and hit an incredible drive that looked like it was going to go over 280 yards, but it struck a phone line that was hanging
over the fairway and fell straight down to the ground after going only about 100 yards."

"Is that when you swore?"

"No, Mother Superior," says the nun. "After that, a squirrel ran out of the bushes and grabbed my ball in its mouth and began to run away."

"Is THAT when you swore?" asks the Mother Superior again.

Well, no." says the nun. "You see, as the squirrel was running, an eagle came down out of the sky, grabbed the squirrel in his talons and began to
fly away!"

"And Is THAT when you swore?" asks the amazed elder nun.

"No, not yet. As the eagle carried the squirrel away in its claws, it flew near the green and the squirrel dropped my ball."

"Did you swear THEN?" asked Mother Superior, becoming impatient.

"No, because the ball fell on a big rock, bounced over the sand trap, rolled onto the green, and stopped about six inches from the hole."

The two nuns were silent for a moment.

Then Mother Superior sighed and said, "You missed the fucking putt, didn't you?

markusantonius - 01 Mar 2006 23:29 - 96 of 505

Very amusing, Fundy! But, generally speaking, women are aweful putters!! Anyway, more importantly, where's your cheque, matey? I need to recoup some pennies to pay for my new Ping Driver! :o)
