There you go then, an each way bet brings home the money, more than can be said for the FI oilies, excepting RKH of course, which kind of defeats my argument :)

cynic - 26 Jul 2012 17:54 - 1053 of 2393

horses and true odds and bookies do not cohabit

grannyboy - 26 Jul 2012 19:36 - 1054 of 2393

So not much good then, will stick with what i'm doing, you can keep your horses.

You stick with losing money old bean, I'll stick with making it. Hope your luck changes with the next drill.

Pessimism Sauce - 26 Jul 2012 20:47 - 1056 of 2393

Instead of comparing this stock to gambling (how stupid is that?) How about you wish those with money in FOGL some luck? Why do I feel like the select few are just circling like sharks, waiting to strike if Lolligo is a duster...this is simply one variation of trolling with all this negative posting and 'de-ramping' and i think alot of people need to grow up.

chuckles - 26 Jul 2012 20:58 - 1057 of 2393

Saucy, are you visually challenged, difficulty with reading?

"Hope your luck changes with the next drill."

How stupid is it not to consider this stock as gambling?

grannyboy - 26 Jul 2012 21:18 - 1058 of 2393

I'm sorry but if the nag you've bet on loses thats it you've lost your money, at least with shares you've not lost its just a paper loss and you've got a chance of pulling your losses back..

So chucky stop talking rubbish..

Neigh lad

HARRYCAT - 26 Jul 2012 22:06 - 1060 of 2393

PS....."circling like sharks, waiting to strike if Lolligo is a duster".............of course they are! But both sets of punters (short & long) are aware of the risks and hoping to make money either way. That's the reality of stock trading. It's not a gentleman's sport!

Pessimism Sauce - 26 Jul 2012 22:14 - 1061 of 2393

I'm not reading through the 40 odd posts which are most likely full of tat. But let me sum up my thoughts on this comparison with gambling....

Heres why it is not gambling. If i gamble and lose, i lose all my money. With FOGL if Lolligo is a duster the value of my shares will simply depreciate, but i will still have some money. Also, they hold permits for large areas and have more planned drills. It just simply becomes a longer term holding until i get my profit.

PS my post was not targeted at anyone in particular so please do not take direct offence, i mean none!

greekman - 27 Jul 2012 07:21 - 1062 of 2393

Hi Harrycat,

You say, 'It's not a gentleman's sport!

Fully agree.
Whilst it is a fact that for every winner there needs to be a loser (more or less), I don't wish losses on anyone, but that the way of things.

Pessimism sauce,

I for one took your comments in a general sense.

Regards Greek.

while it is more or less a fact, that isn't true about shares, for pretty obvious reasons :-)

That's what i say when non share investor friends of mine say you might as well put your money on a horse .

Getting to FOGL and Loligo.

South Falklands 5 TCF recoverable is commercial for gas.

South Falklands 10 TCF gas recoverable is very attractive to develop - lots of profit.

Loligo is targetting 25 TCF gas recoverable on a P50 basis.

Volume is now at pathetic low levels - signaling we are now in the summer lull period across the stock market.

2nd week of August, perhaps a little before, perhaps a little later - should see money flow start to return into stocks after selling out for the summer.

When you see volumes rising across a wide range of stocks - it should be the signal for the autumn bull run to commence - in the meantime its going to be low volume and high volatility but meaning nothing - unless you are margined up.
