Rockhopper was established in 2004 with a strategy to invest in and undertake an offshore oil exploration programme in the North Falkland Basin. It was floated on AIM in August 2005. Rockhopper was the first company to make a commercial oil discovery in the Falklands. Today Rockhopper is the largest acreage holder in the North Falkland Basin, with interests in the Greater Mediterranean region.

greekman - 13 Aug 2010 11:28 - 2280 of 6294

Markymar,

When you say, 'can't be long now' do you mean the waiting or my nails.
But joking apart, I am still waiting patiently.

Pinched from another site. A very interesting, but long read.
Best explanation re Oil that I have ever read. Ideal for a layman.
The site has been used by many over the last few days, without problem.
Obviously up to you if you trust it.

Marky...a pint of Becks would be Posh...kids are wanting a DB9 for the school runs but may have to keep that on hold for a while longer yet.

Still haven't found anyone that has sighted the test equipment in the FI's yet.

cynic - 13 Aug 2010 15:16 - 2282 of 6294

you wouldn't even get them on the parcel shelf, let alone in the boot!
they're great to drive provided you have a resident mechanic
fascinating m'facturing procedure ..... bodywork held together by assorted grades of epoxy tape or similar

kimoldfield - 13 Aug 2010 15:27 - 2283 of 6294

Strange test equipment! ;o)

Balerboy - 13 Aug 2010 15:47 - 2284 of 6294

sounds like my sort of car...

cynic - 13 Aug 2010 15:49 - 2285 of 6294

it won't pull a caravan, but it will pull the birds ..... which would you rather? ...... NOT the caravan!! ..... OH PLEASE!!!

Balerboy - 13 Aug 2010 15:50 - 2286 of 6294

baler string and sticky tape...just my thing......

chav - 13 Aug 2010 15:57 - 2287 of 6294

Tight space to fit the bird cage in though.

greekman - 13 Aug 2010 16:47 - 2288 of 6294

Sorry wrong thread. Thought this was the Rockhopper thread.

To those who want innate chat, why not try face book or similar.

Pathetic.

cynic - 13 Aug 2010 16:54 - 2289 of 6294

off you go then! ..... no compulsion to stay here ..... perhaps you'ld be better occupied trying to sue the directors of company X and Y; or was it FSA?

halifax - 13 Aug 2010 17:02 - 2290 of 6294

next week may be crunch time for RKH, if ernest comes in 500p if its a duster 250p.

cynic - 13 Aug 2010 17:12 - 2291 of 6294

if drop is to 250, i don't think it'll stay there long as RKH already has oil, and almost (not absolutely) certainly an awful lot of it.

what i find extraordinary is the relative resilience of FOGL, for they have zilch and even if ernest does have commercial oil, it's still a long way away from FOGL's prospects

halifax - 13 Aug 2010 17:14 - 2292 of 6294

cynic don't forget FOGL is supported by BLT.

cynic - 13 Aug 2010 17:17 - 2293 of 6294

it'll need an awful lot more than an M&S sandwichto sustain it! ...... BLT can afford to have duds, but surely FOGL is really just a squiddly one trick pony - as is/was indeed RKH

halifax - 13 Aug 2010 17:20 - 2294 of 6294

cynic so what ask BLT what they think.

cynic - 13 Aug 2010 17:25 - 2295 of 6294

time will tell ..... anyway, i'm happy being short FOGL as it's nicely in the money, and if ernest is a duster, it's sure not going to have a happy day

halifax - 13 Aug 2010 17:31 - 2296 of 6294

cynic the fact that BLT has partnered with FOGL and is now very familiar with the search area is intrigueing, we are pretty sure they are not wasting time and money in the Falkland Islands to just enjoy the scenary and the weather.

cynic - 13 Aug 2010 17:42 - 2297 of 6294

as i said, time will tell ..... do you think they drilled toroa thinking it was a dodgy spot? ..... hardly! .... that would have been picked as where they thought most likely, and we all know the result

halifax - 13 Aug 2010 17:48 - 2298 of 6294

cynic so what BLT is the only multinational company that has committed to the FI so far, they have the knowledge and are ready to move if it turns out to be the major oil province we are lead to believe.
