From the latest company's drilling update....17 Feb
http://moneyam.uk-wire.com/cgi-bin/articles/200402170700084897V.html
Can anyone with mining knowledge explain these terms....
What does sidetracking mean? Approx how ong will that take?
Approx. how long will it take to correct a deviated section?
Is 'crude oil in shale samples' a good indication that there is oil?
Is 'Gas-bearing porous sands being logged' a good indication that there is gas?
Basically what does logging involve ?
Any views re AEX potential??
Regards
Stephen

Somehow I thought if there was a presentation to major shareholders then you would be there Darron! No need to ask if it went down well then! :-))) Had a few more myself this morning after selling put of ESY after the Sky announcement, so a great end to my week. I hear the beers calling!
Greyhound, I haven't set any price targets for y/e as I'm planning on holding this for quite a while.

Whilst AEX has been soaring, practically all the other oil minnows, as well as AIM stocks generally have been taking a battering. Isn't it time to take profits on AEX?

Squidd.
The general opinion, certainly on TMF, seems to be that Aminex is seriously undervalued compared to the other 'minnows'.
Therefore I suspect that, even if other oilies are subject to profit taking, Aminex still has a huge amount of catching up to do to even approach a fair valuation of where the company currently stands with respect to the potential in North Korean and Africa.
Additionally the 6 party talks with North Korea regarding their nuclear programme will begin again in November I believe. Any progress will result in a huge gain for the SP.
I do not think this is one to take profits on just yet !!!!
IMHO

Good to see Rickerbys Nominees advising their holding has increased by 2m shares - and the price rolling on today. Was there any weekend publicity on this one?

No press comment over the weekend - just heavyweight discussion on the BB's.
Therefore any press comments this week will just be the icing on the cake.

Time to take profits, I don't think we're going much higher, it's had a very good run from 6p this summer and the N Korea is still a very long way off and any contract with thm is at best iffy.

Will it wane?
Can't it myself, things are coming togther rapidly.
Rickerbys seem to have great faith, they must be approaching double money by now.
Very interesting.

Does anyone know what drove AEX from 5p to 90p in 6 months in 1993? Presumably it was a very different company back then. (I'm not suggesting it's going to 90p before anyone thinks that).

Greyhound,
" Does anyone know what drove AEX from 5p to 90p in 6 months in 1993?"
Best not to dwell of Russian dreams. AEX is now a different beast.
If you like oil & gas play`s Lemming Investor is for you. Authors have covered AGC, ALK, DGO, BUR, EEN, JKX, PET,and now AEX, which is already in the money. The average gain for the oil and gas companies featured is a staggering 227%. Do you know of another site offering those gains in the same sector?
The AEX report is 6 pages long, highlighting several avenues for readers to explore. Its an excellent report.

No one can be more annoyed then I am. Every time it goes up i think of selling but never sold as it usually drops back the next day. This time I sold on the first day thinking that I will buy back the next day, and you now know what has happend. I am just praying it drops a little so that i can buy back all my shares.

Hello fellow holders and potential holders.
I've held these shares since 1987 when they were called Eglinton Oil and Gas, then Eglinton Exploration and finally Aminex.
My original purchase price is the equivalent of............. 660p !!!!!!!!!
The share price collapsed in 1988/89, there was a 1 for 10 consolidation and the share price collapsed again. I suspect that the chart which shows a rise from 5p to 90p all those years ago is just an unadjusted consolidation (as I certainly don't remember such a spectacular rise ever from this Company).
For the vast majority of the last 18 years it has been a loss making non-entity of a Company.
However, at last, it has changed into what could potentially be one of the most exciting stories that anyone can invest into.
Of course a huge amount of the potential depends on the nuclear disarmament talks relating to North Korea. They are still at a very very early stage relatively speaking. A lot of things could go wrong - not least a tiny company such as Aminex being shafted by the Korean Government. However that is the risk you are taking investing in this Company.
If everything goes well then all holders will indeed make a killing. It will be a rollercoaster ride and not for the faint-hearted.
As for me...........in addition to my original purchase at 660p I have (thanks to the one and only Paul Masterson bringing it back to my attention !!) bought some this year at 9p, 11.49p, 15.25p, last Friday at 20.25p and this morning at 21.50p. The later purchases were as a result of high quality follow up information gleaned from the heavyweight investors on TMF (they know who they are !!)
An averaging down to be proud of !!!!!!!
Good luck to all.

supermono 13: Thanks for the morning post; I also enjoyed reading your later one.
My inclination to sell AEX was purely subjective. I have watched all the darling stocks of this bb, including my own high flyers such as CSB, GFM & ULT blossom, and then wilt in the Autumn chill, leaving me wishing I had sold on the rise, and I feel that surely no sp can maintain such rapid growth without a pause and retraction. The only oil minnow I can find which has equalled the rise of AEX this year, is GED which has also been falling since early October, so I'm thinking let's take a healthy profit and hopefully join the likes of Bugz & Kaysmart looking to re-enter at a lower sp after the inevitable profit taking. I share your views on AEX for the long term, and should I sell, will be keen to get back aboard later.
