gavdc - yes the whole sector seems to be trailing beneath their respective 20 and 40 dma's currently, probably reflecting a significant retracement in the sector after the peaks of hurrican madness and having little to do with fundamental value.
we'll see.

Another good example of MMs in action. Hold the price down to shake out the sellers and fill the order. Who is the buyer? If my conspiracy theory is correct we should see another tick up tomorrow. Every day now brings us closer to production from Chinguetti and every day brings us closer to a bid for SEY. One way or another we will see at least 20p before Christmas and a heck of a lot more in the new year.

ahoj - Thanks for posting, reinforces my views.
FWIW I had a good look at my holdings yesterday and sold off Hardman, and topped up Sterling a bit more.
Reason? - I had exposure to a success or failure at Tevet2 Deep ST-1 with both stocks, Hardman are in a strong downtrend at the mo, whereas Sterling looks to have hit near lows already, plus they are freely carried for that well.
I suspect a duster there would be very unforgiving for Hardman and would present a buying opportunity, any knock on to Sterling would do the same but to a lesser degree, but only because the Market is fickle.
Having said all that, if it is a duster at Tevet2 Deep ST-1, I believe that it would probably be as well to leave Hardman out of my portfolio for a while till the drilling is over.
BUT - the odds are now on that Tevet should contain something and that is reinforced by the "kick".
As it is, any success would fairly not raise the sp to levels where I sold out, (in the short term anyway) and it would present a buy back in at cheaper levels possibly.
I note Hardman has lost another 6% nearly overnight in Oz, so I am satisfied that I did the right thing.

Just had a chat with my Stockbroker - there is noithing going on that we don't know of as far as they know.
Energy stocks are generally down across the board.
That being the case I have had some at 16.5p.
If it drops some more, I have more, but that looks like bottom.........(today?)
If goes lower, I will buy at every penny it drops from here on in.

Yes prop.
As I had sold out before this (around 6 months?), is like taking candy from a baby for me, and in fact I am doing the reverse of you, I am sure you had some at much cheaper than that so you can afford to play a bit.
Glad like heck I sold Hardman though, single exposure lets me sleep last night.

lol
Andy, I can only think that this is World Market driven.
The release of the strategic reserves in the USA a couple of weeks back prompted the decline, and the importation of EU reserves has not helped, but.................
That is not the end.
These reserves need replacing.
Gas continues to rise although I think it needs to stop soon or it will promote it's own problems.
These stocks will all recover in the short to mid term, there really are no problems.
I say this without due authority, but it is clear to me all will retun as it was.
Personally, I do not like to see oil over $60 a barrel.
It could lead to recession imo.
Keep it between $45 and $60 and we will all be happy.
I think I am, losing it now so time for bed.
So it's me, goal, Andy and the Institutons for tomorrow.
That'll do.
