Telegraph Market report

"Paul Kavanagh, a partner at stockbroker Killik & Co, recommends Sterling Energy, currently 16p, because of its stake in a development in Mauritania. "The group will have significant cash flows when its field comes on stream in February," he reasons.

"It has a highly regarded management team. Chief executive Harry Wilson and finance director Graeme Thomson brought it to market in 2002, turning it from a company worth around 10m to a 230m business."

Couple of large ones going through. Not much reaction to HNR update. Nothing day really.

Got in on these this week. Bring on next years production!!

Andy - 02 Nov 2005 20:29 - 5216 of 7811

Andysmith,

Welcome aboard, I couldn't agree more!

We are crossing some choppy waters at the moment, but I'm hopeful of calmer ones when the FPSO Berge Helene arrives in Mauritanian waters in the not too distant future.

I believe there is still a hope of production commencement earlier than planned, I have seen February mentioned, though not sure how realistic that is in practice.

seawallwalker - 02 Nov 2005 23:24 - 5217 of 7811

Hi there andysmith.

Good approach to this stock.

FPSO Berge Helene is at Cape Town.

No doubt stocking up on the local apple and grape crop before winging its way up the coast.

February is the date everyone from the JVP seems to stick with.

We should see a bit of sp action when Berge Helene arrives, and a climb in sp towards February imo.

Andy - 03 Nov 2005 00:21 - 5218 of 7811

SWW,

Thanks for the update of the Berge Helene, let's hope they aren't tasting the product of the local grape crop in too large quantities!

mbugger -how nice of you to comment on what I thought had died as a bb.

New life Jim, but not as we knew it!

Pond Life - 07 Nov 2005 23:21 - 5221 of 7811

Still here SWW, just nothing new to say. FWIW I like the higher low on the chart. I think that we have now turned the corner and can look forward to a new higher high as we run in towards the start of production from Chinguetti. Feeling very confident about this one - famous last words. A bit more patience and we'll get our just rewards.

seawallwalker - 07 Nov 2005 23:49 - 5222 of 7811

Pondy!!

So you are.

Totally agree.

Not much to say, but here is something to say and you said it.

I wont ramp this stock, it's bound to be a pound by Christmas! (wish)

Pond Life - 08 Nov 2005 08:37 - 5223 of 7811

And another tick up to start the day followed by an interesting cross trade of a small matter of 4,000,000 shares. Interesting times indeed.

namreh3 - 08 Nov 2005 12:57 - 5224 of 7811

SWW it may be that I am getting old, but I seem to remember the 1 by Christmas ramp exactly one year ago. I should have realised it would be Christmas 2006. Lucky I am in again. Chronic Investors mentioned SEY in an article last week.
I was expecting a few to jump on board. (DNX doing well).

25p by end Feb.

seawallwalker - 08 Nov 2005 14:02 - 5225 of 7811

nam - yes pound by christamas, that was before the placing to cover the Mauritanian Government deal.

(8% of total production to Sterling!!!).

That put a dampener on the sp till now, I think that will also be the reason this stock finds it so hard now to move forward.

Not many have taken the time to understand the deal, and those who see the figures still don't believe it yet.

This will be over a pound by Chritmas 2006 provided the deal remains as is now and the Company remains independent and oil around $45.

Not much to hope for, the question I ask myself is do I sell all on any forthcoiming spike in the sp, or hold onto a few.

No ramp, this is the future as I see it.
