The squeeze on the bears continues

;o)

cynic - 30 May 2006 17:07 - 667 of 2511

For no real logical reason othet than that I bought them both about the same time, I tend to lump VOG and EME together ...... Whereas under margin(?) pressure late today EME slipped away to 87.5 at close (cut some of position earlier in the day), VOG stayed solid all day with little move in either direction (topped up this morning) ...... If I, and many other "friends" here are lucky, VOG's imminent announcements will be at least as good as hoped with a nice fillip to sp.

Well 106 & 104 Update at West Medvezhye Project, Russia

Victoria Oil & Gas Plc ('Victoria' or 'the Company') the AIM-quoted oil and gas
developer focused on the Former Soviet Union, today announces that preliminary
well test results from Well 106 and Well 104-Bis at its West Medvezhye gas and
condensate project have been delayed due to the difficult operating conditions
brought on by the melting of the Siberian permafrost.

All necessary technical equipment is in place and preliminary results from Wells
106 and 104-Bis are expected in June.

TYPICAL ! DOWN WE GO !

cynic - 31 May 2006 07:53 - 670 of 2511

That is very dull indeed! ....... Why they had to wait until the last day of May to advise I really don't know ...... Still, at least the gas underneath will not go away, so i guess it's just a case of hanging on in there

skyhigh - 31 May 2006 08:08 - 671 of 2511

Cynic,
in the mean time down we've gone ! after dropping from 2.60p as well !
I guess VOG might as well join the bashing all my other shares have gone thru and still going thru.
the alternative view is that the mms already new about the delay and priced it in with the recent falls... we may find the sp recovers and gets stronger towards the anticipated release of the next update ! (clutching at straws)
As you say the good news will come out in the nex month or so.... so will try and
buy some more when the bottom of the fall establishes itself over the next week or two !

's Yes, would have been better to let the news out earllier...

hlyeo98 - 31 May 2006 08:35 - 672 of 2511

Phew! SP recovering now...

cynic - 31 May 2006 08:37 - 673 of 2511

VOG is actually an interesting market today and shows, I think, its underlying strength ........ Having been marked down to 161 just before opening and the market itself being down 60/70 points from last night, VOG is now back to 182 ...... At least we know VOG actually has assets rather than just blue sky and hope and hype!

cynic - 31 May 2006 11:12 - 674 of 2511

VOG has now effectively fallen no more than 10p from its overnight level ...... To me, that is a very positive indication of the general high opinion of the stock and may even mean that the test result is not 4 weeks away but much closer

cynic - 31 May 2006 12:47 - 675 of 2511

and tyo cheer you all further ...... Ambrian has just put out a note reiterating their BUY stance with a target of 330 and a comment that the delay is probably only for a couple of weeks.

soul traders - 31 May 2006 13:07 - 676 of 2511

Pip-Pip!! Morning all. (Crikey, it's actually afternoon already . . . !)

Glad I didn't see the first couple of hours of the SP's movement, otherwise I might have been panicking for no reason.

Problems with permafrost are normal in Siberia. This really is not a big issue, more just a fact of life. This kind of thing hasn't stopped Sibir Energy from getting to where it is today and it won't stop VOG.

The real issue is the amount and commerciality of the gas in place. Roll on, June!

Cynic, many thanks for the update re Ambrian.

cynic - 31 May 2006 13:43 - 677 of 2511

Pleasure to service you soul*!

scotinvestor - 01 Jun 2006 16:36 - 678 of 2511

this is still going down to at least 150p

lizard - 01 Jun 2006 16:44 - 679 of 2511

well short it then!.

cynic - 05 Jun 2006 08:23 - 680 of 2511

At the risk of putting the evil eye on this stock and giving scot* satisfaction, I have just topped up further as i think the slight weakness over the last few days was purely through inertia and small offerings.

Marcel1970 - 06 Jun 2006 13:46 - 681 of 2511

HI
Does anyone know why VOG has gone down slightly when the buy are more than the sells

cynic - 06 Jun 2006 13:53 - 682 of 2511

no real reason for them to go anywhere for another week or two ..... they were up a bit earlier and now down a bit; just geneal inertia and no doubt, small offerings

FROM SHARES MAG.............From shares mag (article on Blue Sky Shares):

... So what makes a blue-sky share? Those who like
their PEs low and PEGs to fit nicely in place will
find that mathematical logic doesnt usually have
much relevance to blue-sky winners. Victoria Oil &
Gas (VOG:AIM) has been a classic blue-sky share,
soaring from 36.5p last June to its current price
around 186.5p. Positive assessments of the oil and
gas companys resources coupled with the recent
boom in commodity prices have been enough for
the shares to rocket a massive 410%, even though
the company failed to make a profit in 2005 and is
currently trading on a PE of -184.
Quite often the potential blue-skyers are lossmaking
because they are the companies with high
R&D spend, says Collins Stewart analyst Navid
Malik. Rather than the companys ability to
generate profits in the short term, it is the quality
of the product and its future potential that counts.
You always have to look for innovation. There
could be hiccoughs along the way with partners or
distribution deals but as long as the technology or
data is there, the investment should be solid,
says Malik.

cynic - 08 Jun 2006 07:32 - 684 of 2511

What a wonderful politician's anwer from Navid Malik when related to VOG ...... He must have aggravated his piles severely from sitting so firmly on the fence to avoid voicing a view.
