Surely cynic, at 15million approx the market cap on this one is too small for you, haha.

cynic - 12 Mar 2007 09:27 - 793 of 2087

anything over 10m is doable ..... how long EME stay above that level is another matter, just as happened with BFC

Big Al - 12 Mar 2007 09:36 - 794 of 2087

Spread too big for me, cynic, but best of luck. Dunno how much downside there is.

HARRY - commiserations. C'est la vie

cynic - 12 Mar 2007 10:16 - 795 of 2087

haven't done it ...... bought back into gold instead on basis that $ is now weakening quite significantly .... got stopped out last time i did it, about $4.00 below current, albeit at a good profit.

Big Al - 22 Mar 2007 02:31 - 796 of 2087

Hmm, interesting RNS Monday.

Water coning - who turned the tap on too quickly, eh? Naughty, naughty. Either that or it's water-wet anyway. 1 down, 2 to go and 3 to drill.

Wouldn't it be great if EME had a week where they actually released all good news? Full of promise 18 months ago and then they got down to the nitty-gritty. Oh well. ;-))

HARRYCAT - 22 Mar 2007 09:22 - 797 of 2087

You seem to be fixated by this one Big Al !!! Do you have a vested interest? Or just memories of a former lifestyle? :o)

Big Al - 22 Mar 2007 21:27 - 798 of 2087

HARRY - not fixated as such, but being in the busines I've found it a tremendous mental exercise deciphering the RNS's and interpreting the true story.

I don't think I've done too bad so I check their releases every so often and attempt to pit my wits against the management of EME. LOL

Great fun.

On the serious side I really don't have a lot of faith in EME making the break from high-risk explorer to anything concrete. After the initial excitement of potential, they've consistently failed to return anything at all!

HARRYCAT - 22 Mar 2007 21:44 - 799 of 2087

Sadly, I agree. I fell in to the trap of being 'Brand Loyal' so hung on to my EME which I bought at 97p way back. Sold recently at 42p as thought I could make up the loss with IPL, so took a bit hit. But as you said, c'est la vie. Golden rule, don't get attached to a particular share, which is what I thought you had done.
I'm out & staying out for a while, though will keep it on my watch list.

Big Al - 22 Mar 2007 22:20 - 800 of 2087

HARRY - I bought some at about 34p and sold in the 90's just over a year ago when all the excitement began. I didn't get the bottom and I didn't get the top. For me, I work in the business so I like to keep an eye on things.

Sorry for your loss, but it obviously didn't wipe you out, which is great news. You live to fight another day!! ;-))

Anyone any new

hlyeo98 - 12 Apr 2007 22:54 - 802 of 2087

EME is a no-go area. Poor management and I think they will be looking for funding soon

tcdmct - 13 Apr 2007 09:33 - 803 of 2087

Hlyeo98

Can i ask why you think this is a bad stock,as a no go area.
Also how did you get on with your investment with patientline(ptl)

shadow - 13 Apr 2007 12:51 - 804 of 2087

Eme have 3 vast projects and are duly on course to deliver the sugarloaf-1 and margarita plus the eagle-1 in califonia with vast reserves, and quality production of oil & gas.

cynic - 13 Apr 2007 13:37 - 805 of 2087

"On course to deliver?" asked Cynic acidly. "It'll be the first time EME ever have, and the market looks underwhelmed too," he continued

seawallwalker - 13 Apr 2007 15:16 - 806 of 2087

The last time I saw, "on course to deliver...." it was 75kbopd from Chinguetti.

12 months on, that "no brainier" is now producing 22kbopd and has been the grave of one good company, Hardman Resources, 3 other members who were on course to deliver, have now arrived at their destination at selling out at a loss.

E&P is a veritable minefield and buyers need to beware, and be realistic about what they are buying into.

EME is a case in point imo.

PANR is another, lots of inflated RNS's, and promise, and failure to deliver.

Never mind, next time they need cash to start again, they will go to the market!!!

Sound familiar?

It should do, there are more than just a couple that have done that of late, that is if they have not sold out first.

hlyeo98 - 13 Apr 2007 15:32 - 807 of 2087

EME is a company which give false promises. It should win an award for that.

cynic - 13 Apr 2007 15:49 - 808 of 2087

so does EMI they tell me!

Big Al - 14 Apr 2007 01:40 - 809 of 2087

Nothing's changed IMO. An investment in EME is dead money for the foreseeable future.

Why bother?

cynic - 18 Apr 2007 11:16 - 811 of 2087

now there's a surprise! ...... holders of CHP and GOO had better hope "floppy disease" is not contagious!
