cynic - I only posted on here (as opposed to advfn) as my anonymity is safe; I am reluctant to go into detail for various reasons but here's my last word.
I would be surprised if any of the PET dreamers/holders have bothered to mail the IOM and ask what they know of PET. The rampers love posting emails from the boiler room that is PET office quoting their supposed contacts at the IOM but do they ever bother to do the real homework themselves? No...but it's easily done.
What happened at 90p? The penny started to drop, literally and metaphorically. If your holding 2million PET at an average of say 70p and you decide you want out, well it's not that simple is it? The only option is to quietly and steadily drip feed into the market while not letting on to the other large holders and all the time posting bullish crap for the minnows.
IG alone have closed accounts for trading and are holding the knife above positions of £1000 pp. These positions are losing daily and soon will have to be closed. PET stock is held by retail investors alone - and most of them are obviously novices who didn't have the sense to have stops at 10%...they won't run for the hills but sooner or later they capitulate, hence the remorseless fall in the price.
The advice I have for the doubters is to go and read a book on investing and then apply all the criteria to PET and if you don't see a con then you shouldn't be in the markets.

interesting what you say about IG, though that may just be because they are up to their own internally imposed limits in one direction or the other ..... however, as i said on here many moons ago, this is not a stock that has appeal to me .... too small and in iraq!

I just sold my PET shares at a loss. I think there is truth in what self19 is saying. Thanks for the warning, self19.

PET can indeed be shorted through IG, and not just in lots of <£1000 either, so someone has their info wrong

justyi - i feel uncomfortable reading that as the sp has just hit support, but the technicals may be immaterial now. In my defense please refer to post 777 way back in july when i warned of all this then. Whatever the sp does, you are best out of PET. Avoid AIM explos as many are bogus ramps.
cynic - IG have closed 2 accounts i know of because the particular punters cannot cover their margin calls on PET.

ah ... that's a different matter .... that just means they had run out of cash and nothiong to do per se with the underlying stock, other than that they called it totally wrong

Pretty obvious what Self19 is up to presumably he/they have already made a bundle shorting PET, if it is a boilerroom then why does AIM tolerate it? When it comes to boilerrooms there are plenty of bloggers on this and other sites falling into that category.... time to swallow a large pinch of salt.

Tend to agree with halifax.
Strange how these comments are made by people I've never heard of before.
On AMER seen the opposite. A lot of ramping by people who mysteriously disappear when they've got what they want.
Can't believe people get taken in.

halifax - i wish i had made 'bundles' on the few quick Pet trades i have made (both long and short), they were all profitable but small, and were all based on technical not fundamental data. I painted the true picture in my july post and the sp is now lower not higher, so, if you don't mind, I think I have more reason to be listened to. You however, unless you bought 2 yrs ago and never sold, have a losing position.
I reiterate: email the IOM and ask them what their relationship with a company called Petrel Resources is.
keith - do you seriously think Horgan is going to own up to what his pals have been up to?
btw - the idea that PET's dramatic fall is the work of shorters is erroneous and the delusion of people with bad positions trying to blame bad investing decisions on silly conspiracies. As I posted earlier the selling is the result of large positions unwinding.

Self19 you may have failed to notice most of the smaller oil shares have fallen in value since July, even the likes of DGO,JKX and TLW, it is pretty obvious you and your cronies are shorting PET as it is a soft target at present... please tell us which shares your boilerroom have on the list to short next so we can all join in?

I somehow believe Self19. There is something fishy in PET from my instinct. Sorry, it's just a feeling that something is not right.

Some people will believe anything - blatant disinformation.
Just in case anyone should think I'm long on this stock, I'm not. Read back and you will find a 'discussion' I had with the author of this thread - Lex. I can't remember at what price I said it was a short and he was full of sh*t, but not far off the top.

halifax - your deluded, but i can almost forgive you because i have an advantage over you in that i am privy to the TRUTH,as I am a professional trader who talks to other traders everyday and I have connections to the very people who ramped this on advfn way back when it was 20-30p. I could have bought it then and made a lot of money but I thought it was a crock of shit then and now so do some of those that were ramping it; THEY are the people selling out - it is not shorters. I have no position regarding this company other than warning people off what is nothing more than a poisonous ramp.
Watch 29p. a) it's a major support, and b) it's the last chance for Horgan's mates to spread some more spurious gossip. It could be immaterial, as PET not appearing on the last of the qualified bidders list will be spell the end anyway.
btw - it's down again today and your still losing money.

All shares are down you idiot. AFR down 20%, CFM 35% at worst to pick just two.
If you haven't got anything sensible to say, you could do us all a favour and disappear.
I don't own.

Thanks Self19 for your input last week. It seems you are right that PET is a share that was ramped up for no real credit after all.
