for once i agree with halifax.

also plenty of other shares have collapse esp in mining and oil recently (and that in only a few months)

keith106 - 03 Oct 2008 17:17 - 842 of 1154

Copied Self 19,s comments to David Horgan for comment, reply posted below.

Maybe the boiler room of his imagination is run by Elvis & Lord Lucan!Would that life were so easy!D

Self19 - 03 Oct 2008 17:50 - 843 of 1154

halifax - i wish i had made 'bundles' on the few quick Pet trades i have made (both long and short), they were all profitable but small, and were all based on technical not fundamental data. I painted the true picture in my july post and the sp is now lower not higher, so, if you don't mind, I think I have more reason to be listened to. You however, unless you bought 2 yrs ago and never sold, have a losing position.
I reiterate: email the IOM and ask them what their relationship with a company called Petrel Resources is.

keith - do you seriously think Horgan is going to own up to what his pals have been up to?
btw - the idea that PET's dramatic fall is the work of shorters is erroneous and the delusion of people with bad positions trying to blame bad investing decisions on silly conspiracies. As I posted earlier the selling is the result of large positions unwinding.

halifax - 03 Oct 2008 18:35 - 844 of 1154

Self19 you may have failed to notice most of the smaller oil shares have fallen in value since July, even the likes of DGO,JKX and TLW, it is pretty obvious you and your cronies are shorting PET as it is a soft target at present... please tell us which shares your boilerroom have on the list to short next so we can all join in?

hlyeo98 - 03 Oct 2008 20:40 - 845 of 1154

I somehow believe Self19. There is something fishy in PET from my instinct. Sorry, it's just a feeling that something is not right.

ptholden - 03 Oct 2008 20:55 - 846 of 1154

Some people will believe anything - blatant disinformation.

Just in case anyone should think I'm long on this stock, I'm not. Read back and you will find a 'discussion' I had with the author of this thread - Lex. I can't remember at what price I said it was a short and he was full of sh*t, but not far off the top.

cynic - 03 Oct 2008 21:36 - 847 of 1154

scotty ..... looking back, i see you were pretty heavily into this stock (and slating me for a change - lol)...... hope you did not fry when it all collapsed

Self19 - 06 Oct 2008 12:23 - 848 of 1154

halifax - your deluded, but i can almost forgive you because i have an advantage over you in that i am privy to the TRUTH,as I am a professional trader who talks to other traders everyday and I have connections to the very people who ramped this on advfn way back when it was 20-30p. I could have bought it then and made a lot of money but I thought it was a crock of shit then and now so do some of those that were ramping it; THEY are the people selling out - it is not shorters. I have no position regarding this company other than warning people off what is nothing more than a poisonous ramp.
Watch 29p. a) it's a major support, and b) it's the last chance for Horgan's mates to spread some more spurious gossip. It could be immaterial, as PET not appearing on the last of the qualified bidders list will be spell the end anyway.
btw - it's down again today and your still losing money.

dealerdear - 06 Oct 2008 12:28 - 849 of 1154

All shares are down you idiot. AFR down 20%, CFM 35% at worst to pick just two.

If you haven't got anything sensible to say, you could do us all a favour and disappear.

I don't own.

cynic - 06 Oct 2008 12:28 - 850 of 1154

huge spread 30/35 .... friday afternoon it was being quoted at 35/40 from memory, so even more diff than usual to make money

justyi - 06 Oct 2008 12:34 - 851 of 1154

Thanks Self19 for your input last week. It seems you are right that PET is a share that was ramped up for no real credit after all.

Self19 - 06 Oct 2008 12:39 - 852 of 1154

29p offer - watch what happens later this afternoon.

cynic - 06 Oct 2008 12:39 - 853 of 1154

all oil shares have been totally walloped, perhaps more so than the rest of the market, miners excepted (even worse!).

to my mind, PET was always too risky, for though it allegedly has good conatcts and relationships in Iraq, PET does not actually have proven reserves (even) and the situation in Iraq itself will remain far too dangerous and unstable for a further 2/3 years ..... even then, will PET actually be granted the licences it seeks?

Self19 - 06 Oct 2008 12:41 - 854 of 1154

my last piece of advice: don't buy the spike; they will sell into it.

justyi - 06 Oct 2008 12:47 - 855 of 1154

Thanks again, we shouldn't touch PET even with a bargepole. Very dodgy company.

dealerdear - 06 Oct 2008 12:49 - 856 of 1154

lol

justyi and self may of course be the same person

or bedfellows of course ....

cynic - 06 Oct 2008 12:50 - 857 of 1154

very few stocks look even half way safe, though HBOS and IEC might both fall into that category for much the same reasons

dealerdear - 06 Oct 2008 12:52 - 858 of 1154

CFM now down 38%

Self19 - 06 Oct 2008 19:00 - 859 of 1154

there you go - check out the bulls thread on advfn and you'll find the pathetic ramp after close from one of the biggest holders who is desperate to pump this so he can get out. He's getting his nuts squeezed on losing positions right across the market and he's got an awful lot of PET to dump - come on peeps; aren't you going to help him out? Get buying! I can tell you he's a nice guy but a rubbish trader...sad.

ptholden - 06 Oct 2008 19:07 - 860 of 1154

I can't quite work out why you're bothering to post Self. You've appeared from nowhere with some boiler room bollocks about PET, but the irony is you don't have to; the market is in meltdown and most oil and commodity stocks are getting hammered. Your little posts are not making any differnce at all to the overall sentiment.
