cynic - 30 Dec 2008 10:00 - 901 of 1154

that as may be, but that just highlights how little it takes to move sp in either direction ..... personally, i wouldn't touch it

required field - 30 Dec 2008 10:00 - 902 of 1154

A lot of other oilies have not moved at all, or little !.

cynic - 30 Dec 2008 10:02 - 903 of 1154

you mean like TLW, PMO and CNE!!!!?? ...... or do you just refer to piddly E&P companies?

required field - 30 Dec 2008 10:09 - 904 of 1154

Some mid caps on Aim...AFR, NOP,...etc..!.

required field - 30 Dec 2008 10:11 - 905 of 1154

PET might be a good cfd play if you could guess the direction !.

cynic - 30 Dec 2008 10:26 - 906 of 1154

i wouldn't touch any iraqi E&P company ...... the chances of anything useful happening there in the next 12+ months is slim in tghe extreme, and who says PET will even get a meaningful or even any slice - other than the rampers (unkind) that is

2517GEORGE - 30 Dec 2008 10:52 - 907 of 1154

The sp may well be telling us that perhaps they are about to get a slice of the action. No doubt at some point (soon) all will be revealed.

Bought these when first started investing, nearly panicked and dumped when self19 and hlyeo predicted doom & gloom want to thank those on this board who pointed out their ramping. Am still loosing but at least not as much now. Not predicting wonderous things for this share - don't even have fingers crossed anymore, just trying to point out how easily it is to be sucked in by people who post for their own adgenda.

I am back in profit having bought for memory around 6years ago @ 42p, had several opportunities to sell between 1 - 1.50 but didn't (put it down to greed), it's PET's financial year end tomorrow.

I heard a whisper from that well known stock ramper known as BLT, aka Dougie Wright that Petrel were in advanced talks with a Major oil company (BP?) that would qualify them to bid for a giant oil field when the next bidding round is finalised.

cynic - 07 Jan 2009 16:15 - 914 of 1154

and why wouldn't BP just do that themselves?

jeffmack - 07 Jan 2009 16:17 - 915 of 1154

Exactly Cynic, this has to be a good short soon

Sandbanks - 09 Jan 2009 09:34 - 916 of 1154

gentlemen you are missing the point, at present PET are the only contractor actually working in the south and the majors have said that it is still too dangerous to put their own staff in on the ground, so wouldn't it be better for them to do a JV with the only western company that is already there?

tesco888 - 13 Jan 2009 19:06 - 917 of 1154

100k late buy gone through, is someone in the know???

watcher - 14 Jan 2009 10:34 - 918 of 1154

a quick question....if the year end is 31 dec......how long does the company have to submit figures....if there is a stipulated date/days

But are PETactually working in Iraq right now ?Or are they waiting to get paid the money owed to them by the IOM before they decamp after spending 10 years working for nothing?
