THE TALK TO YOURSELF THREAD. (NOWT)

goldfinger - 09 Jun 2005 12:25

Thought Id start this one going because its rather dead on this board at the moment and I suppose all my usual muckers are either at the Stella tennis event watching Dim Tim (lose again) or at Henly Regatta eating cucumber sandwiches (they wish,...NOT).

Anyway please feel free to just talk to yourself blast away and let it go on any company or subject you wish. Just wish Id thought of this one before.

cheers GF.

I have no problem with 0.7% of GDP going to foreign aid, if needed. But I do have a problem with it being a mandatory figure. That leads to spending nonsense, just to make up the figures. Money should be given where it is really needed, up to 0.7% of GDP. If it is not really needed, or being abused, don't spend it and pay down the debt.

Nigeria corrupt? I think it is full of very nice men. Hardly a day goes by without receiving an email from some kind soul offering to share $10M with me.

IT.

They must know you have it to bother trying.

Until Manuel gave it all of his of away he had knocks on his door every day.

VICTIM - 24 Apr 2017 14:54 - 76514 of 81564

Dear Freda any old blather from you in response to serious concerns going on eh , if you can't defend it you go dumb . On such an occasion as this May could easily cut back 20 to 30 per cent and say that's it , we must be seen to be proper at times .

cynic - 24 Apr 2017 14:56 - 76515 of 81564

lots of chuckling having just logged back in

there is certainly a horrible amount of abuse in the way some aid money is spent - or stolen
however, the reasoning for it is sound

IT
0.7% is not a fixed monetary amount .... go back to primary school :-)

Vicky darling,

I am sorry I can't keep up with the rubbish you write. No defence is offered.

Mind you after the "exit" the UK may be holding its cap out begging its way around Europe for deals and handouts.

(I can lend you my dog's old bowl if you need it.)

Or better still, try and buy an "old tramp steamer" and trade around the world like in the "good old days". (Rule Britannia.)

Anyway, it looks like the French have seen the light and are going to reject Fascism.

It would nice to think the same will happen in the UK.

Shock poll puts Tories ahead in Wales for historic win

Cons 21 seats
Lab 15 seats
Paid 3 seats
Libs 1 seat

From ITV

The Conservatives appear to be on course to win the majority of Welsh parliamentary seats for the first time in more than 100 years according to an exclusive poll carried out for ITV Cymru Wales News.

The snapshot of voting intentions also puts Labour as losing a general election in Wales for the first time since 1918.

The shock findings come from the latest Welsh Political Barometer poll – the first opinion poll to be conducted in Wales since Theresa May called the snap general election.

Our new poll asked how people would vote in a general election for the House of Commons.

Plaid Cymru and the Liberal Democrats are projected, by this poll, to hold the seats they currently have but make no gains.

Sensationally, however, a full ten seats are projected to be gained by the Conservatives from Labour.

Get the message yet Corbyn you useless fecking idiot ????

hlyeo98 - 24 Apr 2017 20:02 - 76519 of 81564

Corbyn should just step down or resign. When Andrew Marr asked him if MI5 informs him of ISIS leader location, would he give the go-ahead to kill him?
He replied, 'depends on whether the intel is reliable.'

He is just a total idiot and a risk to our country. Probably would let extremism run amok.

Fred1new - 24 Apr 2017 20:25 - 76520 of 81564

Do you mean the evidence like "Weapons of Mass Destruction"?

VICTIM - 25 Apr 2017 07:33 - 76521 of 81564

Just be careful Freda them thar Cons could be living around the corner , you don't know who they are , be scared be very scared .

iturama - 25 Apr 2017 13:16 - 76522 of 81564

Labour will "immediately” guarantee the rights of the three million EU nationals living in the UK. The catch is "if elected". That means never under Labour but their rights will be protected when Theresa May has gained equal rights for UK citizens. It's all a silly game but the EU loves playing silly buggers. Maybe because it has so many.

Fred1new - 25 Apr 2017 15:08 - 76523 of 81564

Dil.

Be careful, I see that the Praying Mantis has come to a place near you.

Go outside and wave your flag.

VICTIM - 25 Apr 2017 15:10 - 76524 of 81564

It's a good idea to start your campaign off promising people who don't get a vote (? not sure if they do .) they can stay , while anyone from here in Euroland has had no such promise off Labour . Always want to look after others for some reason .

VICTIM - 25 Apr 2017 15:12 - 76525 of 81564

Watch out for them Cons in your area Freda they only come out at night .

iturama - 25 Apr 2017 15:57 - 76526 of 81564

Eu nationals can vote in local elections but not the General Election. The exception to the rule, curiously these days, is that citizens from the Irish Republic can.

cynic - 25 Apr 2017 16:21 - 76527 of 81564

IG poll indicator
since i looked yesterday, tories have moved stronger again

i guess few are impressed by corbyn's continuing nonsensical waffle, even among "normal" traditional labour voters

Fred1new - 25 Apr 2017 16:30 - 76528 of 81564

Nothing to do with the constant smearing by the media and tory cohorts.

There is a smell of a Crosby about it.

VICTIM - 25 Apr 2017 16:44 - 76529 of 81564

Who " Bing Crosby " .

Fred1new - 25 Apr 2017 17:10 - 76530 of 81564

Yes.

Don't worry your pretty little head about it.
