Other assets include Kemerkol in Kazakhstan, with C1 reserves of 8.7MBO

It has excellent management team led by Kevin Foo, who hopes to turn it into

Well i did tell you, 2 RNS out today.
1 Well 104 completed, being tested with results due out
later this month. The delay to the acquistion while disappointing,
goes to show how professional VOG management are.
2 Extention to Tamdykol by 2 years gives more time to
prove up the 34million/barrels of C3/D1 reserves.
This imho is very positive news, if West Med is as good as
expected then this will rocket.
IEC making good progress over the last couple of days.

RUMOUR OF THE DAY: VICTORIA OIL & GAS (talk that drilling results from its West Medvezhye gas project in Russia will impress)

seawallwalker - 18 Aug 2005 07:18 - 7 of 2511

The 17% increase noticed by you niceonecyril, would indiate any good news is now in the price.

May be some mileage first thing if the news is correct and on the day.

Very good spot and good luck.

Poster on TMF says any good news is not in the price............................

niceonecyril - 18 Aug 2005 11:39 - 9 of 2511

SWW,
The Kemerkol field was funded by institutional placing at a discount
from 70p to 55p (it is priced at over 40p). With Tamdykol just starting
to drill (no cost to VOG) along with W/Med the upside of this company
is hugh. So no i don't think either that the full effect of a positive
RNS in the next few days is in the SP, could go to 80p imho.
Have steadily increased my holdings over the last couple of weeks.
There's a Strong tip doing the rounds for CHP
but you need to be Quick?

What a fantastic day for VOG confirmation of Kemerkol but with a much increased
Reserves, up from 16.4mboe to 60.1mboe. "YES 60.1mboe". With sucess at
WEST MED, and drilling taking place at (1st well should be completed by now)
Tamdykol it just gets better.
SP at a barguin price imho, i'm most excited with the prospects of this
company, possible Ukraine Gas acquistion and results from the jewel(W/MED) due
next month, this is a possible multibagger.

Great news today. VOG keep on rolling.

ateeq180 - 17 Nov 2005 11:44 - 14 of 2511

ROLLING UP AGAIN TODAY.

kaysmart - 17 Nov 2005 14:10 - 15 of 2511

Just one point I wish to make if the market was happy with 45/50p sp on
recoverable gas resources of 16.6 billion cubic feet reported by the company in August 2005. Than an increase of 40p today is nothing if you closely analyses yesterdays RNS.D&M estimates a maximum amount of 2.3 trillion cubic feet (tcf) of recoverable gas resources present, a 130 fold increase from the 16.6 billion cubic reported earlier. Now the SP has only doubled today, it has not increased by 130 times. So it does not take a genius to work out where the sp is going on this one.

Good luck to those people who have bought earlier and even today. I think we are onto a winner.

From this monring's FT.com:

Shares in Victoria Oil and Gas surged more than 25 per cent yesterday after the Aim-listed company received confirmation that it had made a big gas discovery inRussia.

Independent consultants DeGoyler & MacNaughton confirmed that Victoria had discovered 500bn cubic feet of recoverable gas, up from the previous estimate of 16bn cubic feet, at its West Medvezhye gas and condensate project in the Yamal Nenetsk region of Russia.

The company, which floated last year, was founded by a group of former employees of Yukos, the collapsed Russian energy group built up by Mikhail Khodorkovsky, the imprisoned Russian oligarch.

The discovery is believed to be the largest discovery of natural gas by an Aim-listed company. One analyst said: "It's certainly the biggest in many years. It's huge."

The field is bigger than several of the North Sea's best-known fields such as Ravenspurn and West Sole, and is only slightly smaller than the Amythest field field, found in 1965 and currently operated by BP.

D&M predicted the well could even reach 2,300 billion cubic feet.

The region in which the project is located contributes about 20 per cent of global gas production annually.

Victoria said it had a strong relationship with Russian gas company Gazprom, which would allow it to sell on the gas via Gazprom's gas distribution system.

However, Victoria has yet to negotiate an agreed price with Gazprom for its gasdiscovery.

Next year, Victoria plans to drill three additional wells at the site. William Kelleher, executive director at Victoria, said successful tests of these wells could further boost the valuation put on the company's assets in the region.

Mr Kelleher joined Yukos in 1998 and was the executive vice-president for exploration in the Central Asian region outside Russia when he left the now-collapsed Yukos.

The discovery is a vindication for Mr Kelleher and 15 other executives and technicians who left the Russian oil company Yukos before its collapse.

Zac Phillips, an analyst at stockbroker Ambrian, said that, while developmentrisks remained, this "upgrade represents a step-change in the outlook for the company".

He added: "The potential reserves of 4,400 cubic feet could place the company firmly amongst much larger Russian and former Soviet Union operators such as Sibir and JKX Oil and Gas."

He raised his estimates of Victoria's net asset value to 501p, of which 297p was based on recoverable resource estimates.

He also suggested a fair value of 306p per share.

Victoria shares closed up 11p at 57p yesterday. Now c. 112p

Does anyone know what mid cap companies like, burren, dana and biggies like bp have in terms of gas reserves. Does Victoria's compare with them? I'm hoping it will rise like Cairn, and the SP might do a White nile, but I don't know.
